A new team has entered the GBBA in division 2. Welcome to the Hurricanes. The division 2 fixtures are now available on the fixtures page. The committee would like to wish all the GBBA participants, and their supporters, a very Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year.

Raiders, Warriors, Hawks, Mavericks, Tornadoes, Pumas & Worcester will all compete in Division 1 of the Post Christmas League.
The division 1 fixtures are now available on the fixtures page.
Division 2 fixtures will be available shortly.
Due to a couple of last minute withdrawls, the cup pools needed to be re-arranged on the day.

Congratulations to the Gloucester College Blazers who beat Worcester Wolves 36-32 in the final.
The Plate Competition final was another closely contested match, with Pumas beating Stroud Sharks 28-26.

Cup fixtures are now available for Sundays day of matches.
Please note the rules below. They were used last year and it worked quite well (essentially, there are no free throws).
Competition Rules:
- Matches will be 2 halves of 6 minutes - stopping clock
- In the event of a draw, games will feature a 2 minute overtime
- Teams are allowed only 1 time-out, and only in the 2nd half
- Only 2 personal fouls per player
- Only 3 team fouls before penalty situation
- Foul in the act of shooting, basket scored (2/3 points)
- Foul in the act of shooting and basket scored (automatic +1point)
- 4th team foul, automatic 1 point for non-offending team plus possession
- Unsportsmanlike / technical fouls, 3 points plus possession
We are still working on referees, struggling to be honest, which means we may be forced to ask referees who are playing on the day to be prepared to do the odd game. We appreciate its not ideal and hopefully we can avoid that.
We need all teams to help out with table officiating : Each team to provide 1 table official for the match preceding each of their own games. So for example, the first match of the day will be tabled by 1 person from each of Hawks, Sharks, Raiders and Cougars.
There are a few outstanding games, so handicaps will not be available until the weekend.
